Welcome to the East Kent Beaver Advisory Group (EKBAG). The group was formed at the start of 2019 and is a partnership between the Environment Agency, Kent Wildlife Trust, Natural England, River Stour (Kent) Internal Drainage Board, Wildwood Trust and the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership.
We work together under the neutral banner of the EKBAG to proactively investigate beaver activity, provide consistent and comprehensive advice to landowners and engage with a broad audience around the presence of beavers in East Kent.
As a collaborative group, we have access to a range of expertise and years of knowledge working on beavers and species reintroductions, habitat restoration and water level management. We are developing a human-beaver coexistence toolkit. This will contain information about beavers, beaver signs and activity to look for and a guide to interventions to prevent and/or mitigate beaver activity to reduce negative impacts on people and beavers. This will be free to download. In the meantime while we develop this toolkit, if you require any support to improve your knowledge of beavers and any advice, please do not hesitate to contact the group (see Contacts and Organisations).

This website has been designed to support communities and land managers living alongside beavers in Britain. It is also a useful source of relevant information on Beaver Advisory/Management Groups in river catchments where wild beavers are becoming established. It has been designed by Devon Wildlife Trust and Beaver Trust.
